This volume translates selected works of John Calvin (1509–1564), the great reformer of Geneva, with special emphasis on his piety.

This, then, is the essence of Calvinist piety, to which Professor McKee provides ready access through judicious extracts from Calvin’s own hand. There is of course much more. Of the many other aspects of Calvin’s piety to which she draws attention, three strike me as especially important.
